The rest of my old classmates went on to become famous athletes. I wasn’t really into sports.

We, the ghosts who haunt Raleigh.

July 15th, 2010 | Category: Felix,Thoughts

A few years ago, my secret photographer friend and I were on our way to the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences when I noticed that I wasn’t the only ghost present. “How odd” I thought to myself as we went to investigate.

They turned out to be civil war era ghosts, haunting downtown Raleigh as a reminder that May 20th 1861 was the day that North Carolina seceded from the American union. I politely introduced myself and explained to them that I am the ghost of modern art, which they found equally interesting.

The experience made me think. Here we come from completely different walks of life (or afterlife) with our own purposes, yet we share the common bond of being ghosts haunting the same area. Seems that diverse people make diverse spirits.

You see my friends, in your world you will encounter many different kinds of people from many different walks of life. This is but a mere preparation for what lies ahead. In the ghostly world you will experience this diversity multiplied by thousands of years of human history.

Moral of the story? Learn to embrace the differences with your fellow man while living and you’ll be prepared to have a long happy eternity filled with wonder and excitement for your fellow ghosts!

Tables turned on a pirate ghost hunter.

July 12th, 2010 | Category: Felix

I once had the honor of meeting author/historian Kevin Duffus who was kind enough to sign my copy of The Last Days of Blackbeard the Pirate.

He’s been on many ghost hunts, but this may have been the first time a ghost sought him out!
